OTTAWA – LaSalle County Sheriff Thomas Templeton will be awarding a college scholarship of $500 to one student during the 2019-2020 academic year. The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association announced they will be awarding $50,000 in scholarships throughout the state to students wishing to peruse higher education during the 2019-2020 academic year. The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, book and fees only. The student must be enrolled full time at a certified institution within the state of Illinois. Applications are available and due at the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office by March 15th.
