YORKVILLE – A man being held on charges related to a homicide in Ottawa last April is now facing new charges of solicitation of murder for hire. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office say that 30-year-old Michael S. Swift allegedly made arrangements with an undercover officer to kill a Judge and a Police Officer. The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Swift with 2 counts of Murder for Hire and 2 counts of Solicitation of Murder, all Class X Felonies. He was transferred to the McHenry County Jail where he is being held without bond. Swift is still facing three first-degree murder charges in LaSalle County for the stabbing death of 21-year-old Grace Taylor of Ottawa.
