Ottawa YMCA to build rec center on riverfront

OTTAWA – The Ottawa YMCA will be purchasing property on the Illinois River front. The city of Ottawa accepted the sole bidder of the former Central School Track for only a dollar. Director of Economic Development Reed Wilson, says the city is supporting the YMCA’s plans to construct a recreational center. Wilson says the location for the facility supports the overall project that the city has to redevelop the river front. The property has not been formerly sold until negotiating a sales agreement.
