PERU – The city of Peru is taking extra measures at its waste, water treatment plant in the event of a flood. After news of availability for funding with the Illinois Emergency Management Association, the city will move forward in seeking bids for a natural gas generator for the East Waste Water Treatment Plant. City Engineer Eric Carls says the grant will cover 75 percent of the $750,000 project.
